Onyewu's Twente advances, Edu's Rangers eliminated

[EUROPA LEAGUE] Oguchi Onyewu's TC Twente is through to the quarterfinals of the Europa League despite its 2-0 loss to Zenit St. Petersburg on Thursday. Maurice Edu's Rangers fell at home to PSV, 1-0, and went out on aggregate by the same score.

Onyewu started at center back in place of the suspended Douglas for Twente, which won the first leg at home, 3-0.

New Jersey-born Giuseppe Rossi scored his tournament-high eighth goal to help Villarreal win 2-1 over Bayer Leverkusen and advance to the quarterfinals.

Three Portuguese clubs -- Benfica, Braga and Porto -- advanced, while English giants Liverpool and Manchester City were eliminated.

    "Muarice Edu's Rangers" as if he owns the club, he is not fit to wear the jersey!!! He was worse than a man short as he is most games.

    Chill dude! Headline writers usually go for the concise headline. Easier to say Edu's Rangers rather then Glasgow Rangers for whom Maurice Edu plays otherwise nobody in the USA would give a rip. LOL Enjoy your haggis.
