Four players -- three Zambians and a Georgian -- at Finnish Premier League club RoPS have been arrested in connection with an investigation into game-fixing.
According to the newspaper
Lapin Kansa, the arrest of Zambians Stephen Kunda, Godfrey Chibanga and Francis
Kombe and Georgian Valter Khorguashvili brings to nine the number of persons detained in connection with a case that began when a Singaporean man
traveling in Finland with forged identity documents and linked to match-fixing was arrested.
RoPS has bounced between the Veikkausliiga and Ykkonen, the top two levels of Finnish soccer,
in recent years. Its roster includes seven Zambians, two Georgians and two Cameroonians, including Tabu Etchu, who attended high school and college in the
United States and holds U.S. citizenship.
