Preparations continue with three-week camp

[U.S. WOMEN] The U.S. women's national team continues its preparations for the 2011 Women's World Cup with a three-week camp that will take place in West Palm Beach, Fla., beginning Monday. U.S. coach Pia Sundhage has called in 29 players for the camp during which players will return on weekends to their WPS clubs.

The roster consists of 25 players from Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). In addition, three collegiate players -- Kristie Mewis (Boston College), Christine Nairn (Penn State) and Sydney Leroux (UCLA) will be in camp for a week each, while defender Ali Krieger returns to the USA after completing her club season in Germany with FFC Frankfurt.

West Palm Beach is the training home to WPS club magicJack so players from that club and their opponents will not have to travel on the weekends of magicJack home games (April 23 and May 1).

The USA will play a pair of domestic matches against Japan to prepare for the Women’s World Cup: May 14 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and May 18 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
