RSL-Philadelphia match rescheduled

[MLS] Just how important is Real Salt Lake’s bid to win the Concacaf Champions League? MLS has given RSL permission to reschedule its game against visiting Philadelphia Union, scheduled to be held between the two legs of the Concacaf final against Monterrey.

The MLS game has been moved from April 23 to Sept. 3 (9 p.m. ET at Rio Tinto Stadium).

RSL faces Monterrey Wednesday in the first leg in Mexico and a week later in the second leg at home.

The only MLS teams to have won the Concacaf club championship are D.C. United in 1998 and Los Angeles in 2000.

No MLS club has participated in FIFA Club World Cup, for which this year's Concacaf winner qualifies. It's scheduled this year for December in Japan.
