Davies ups lead during low-scoring Week 8

[MLS GOLEADORES] D.C. United's Charlie Davies increased his lead among MLS's top scorers with his sixth goal of the season -- one of only 15 goals in Week 8's 10 games.

* Charlie Davies scored the gamewinner in D.C. United's 2-1 victory over Seattle on Wednesday to give him six for season. He notched his first assist in the game, a setup of veteran Josh Wolff's second goal of the season and 77th career MLS goal.

* The Red Bulls' Thierry Henry and the Galaxy's Landon Donovan each scored their fourth goal of the season in their team's 1-1 tie.

* Henry has already doubled his scoring output of last season, when he scored two goals in 11 games. His four goals so far this season have come in seven games. His three assists this season match his 2010 total.

* Week 8 games -- with three scoreless ties, two 1-0 wins and two 1-1 ties -- averaged a paltry 1.5 goals per game.
