Under-17 World Cup draw

[DATEBOOK] The USA will face the Czech Republic, Uzbekistan and New Zealand in Group D at the 2011 Under-17 World Cup in Mexico.

The Americans, 2011 Concacaf champions, open June 19 at 7 p.m. ET against the Czech Republic and face Uzbekistan three days later at 4 p.m. ET, both in Torreon, before rounding out the group stage on June 25 against New Zealand at 6 p.m. ET in Pachuca.

The Czech Republic tied all three group opponents – Romania, Germany and eventual-champion Netherlands – in the final round of the UEFA U-17 Championship and qualified for Mexico '11 on the basis of its third-place finish.

Uzbekistan finished second at the 2010 AFC U-16 championship on its home soil to book its place in the world championships

New Zealand won the Oceania tournament with a 2-0 overtime win over Tahiti in the final.
