Americans fall to France, 2-1

[U.S. UNDER-20 MEN] The USA lost, 2-1, to France, the European champion in its age group, in the second game of their under-20 friendly series played Thursday in Vichy.

Gilles Sunu and Yannis Tafer, both members of the 2010 UEFA U-19 championship team, scored for France, which has not lost since October 2009 and is preparing for the 2011 Under-20 World Cup this summer in Colombia.

Conor Doyle had equalized in the 22nd minute, four minutes after Sunu had put the Bleuets ahead.

The first game ended in a 3-3 tie.

The USA did not qualify for the 2011 Under-20 World Cup.
