A 2-1 win in the second leg of the Mexican Clausura final gave UNAM Pumas a 3-2 aggregate victory of Morelia and earned UNAM its seventh Mexican championship. UNAM is now fifth on the list of most league titles, behind Guadalajara (11), Club America (10), Toluca (9) and Cruz Azul (8).

Former Chivas USA attacker Francisco Palencia, who also scored in the 1-1 first leg, opened the scoring on Sunday from the penalty spot in the 14th minute. Jaime Lozano equalized for Morelia with another penalty kick 11 minutes later.
