Best is yet to come

[NORTH CAROLINA WOMEN] Defender Taylor Ramirez, who was called into the next U.S. under-18 women's national team camp, heads North Carolina's 2011 recruiting class.

Ramirez plays for Orange Soccer Club in Southern California, which will also send forward Brooke Elby to Chapel Hill.

The rest of the 2011 class consists of Satara Murray (Lone Star SC), Kat Nigro (Brentwood SC), Sarah Thompson (MVLA Storm), Biana Gray and Farrell Sweeney (both Triangle United) as well as Canadian midfielder Teresa Anania.

Murray, a defender, and Nigro, a midfielder, rank among the best players in the class of 2011 at their positions.

By Carolina standards, though, the 2011 class is rather modest. Coach Anson Dorrance has lined up dynamite classes the following two years.

The Tar Heels have verbal commitments from national youth team players Bryane Heaberlin, Laura Liedle, Lindsey Horan, Reilly Parker and Carolina Lindquist (class of 2012) and Joanna Boyles and Summer Green (class of 2013)
