Striker Miroslav Klose, who has scored 24 goals in 98 Bundesliga games since joining Bayern Munich four seasons ago, will leave the club after failing to agree to
a new contract with the Bundesliga club.
Klose, who turns 33 this week, wanted a two-year deal but Bayern offered only a one-year extension. In the past season he was mostly a backup for Mario Gomez, the Bundesliga’s top scorer with 28 goals, and managed only one goal in 20 appearances.
"I had four beautiful and successful years in Munich and I’d like to sincerely thank Bayern for that,” said Klose, who has played 109 games for Germany and scored 61 goals. “It was always something special to be able to play for this club."
