HIRED: Metros take Mo



The MetroStars named as its head coach Mo Johnston, who served as interim head coach since the sacking of Bob Bradley Oct. 4.

Johnston guided the MetroStars to two wins and a tie in their final regular-season games to clinch a playoff spot as the Eastern Conference's fourth-place team.

In the playoffs, the MetroStars fell, 3-2, on aggregate to New England.

Johnston, 40, is a former Scotland international whose pro career ended in MLS after 15 seasons in Scotland, England and France.
