[VIDEO PICK] During one of their practices during the Gold Cup the U.S. players loosened up with a pretty cool team-juggling game.

Seems to me that this should be a regular part of their practises not some unique moment. 20 years ago we hosted some German youth players and they did this on their own at a swim outing. Soccer culture!!!!

Simple...that's what the team lacks most on the pitch... SIMPLICITY.

I agree with you, James, it is about soccer culture. I mean, this clip is a perfect example of how the USMNT is so into the set-up and the science, not so much the free-spirited, not-afraid-to-fail attitude and love of the game. Don’t get me wrong, I think the USMNT has improved a whole bunch; but I'm also pretty sure we're not going to catch them in a Nike commercial anytime soon. Wouldn't it be nice if they had some music going in the background or in their heads? Maybe a little samba or bossa nova? Like this, for instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYNYRCeyCsE&feature=related

Thanks Andres! Loved it. Your comment about not seeing the US team in a commercial displaying the pure joy of ball skills is extremely perceptive. It shines a light on the deficiencies of US Soccer as a whole. No joy, just tactics !!!

I shared this with my son who is a big USMNT fan and he was shocked at how poorly the USMNT, our best, can handle a ball. If this was meant to be inspirational, it was ---- for the Jamaican team!!!

Remember the great commercials done with the Brazilian mens' national soccer team from the world cup team in 1994 or 1998? Players were juggling and passing the ball all over the airport with dazzling skills and speed. Haven't seen anything like it, except for the women's team commercial with the Chinese team in 1999, which came close.
