Rapids will meet President next week

[MLS] The White House and Colorado Rapids have announced that President Barack Obama will welcome the 2010 MLS champions next Monday. The team will travel to Washington, D.C., after playing the Crew in Columbus on Sunday.

Following remarks by President Obama and his time with the players and coaches, the Rapids will also conduct a soccer clinic for the children of military families on the South Lawn.

The President's schedule did not permit him to meet with the Rapids after they played D.C. United last month. He has regularly met with professional and collegiate championship teams since taking office in January 2009.
