Quakes keeper Bingham scores from 90 yards in debut

[VIDEO PICK] San Jose Earthquakes goalie David Bingham won't ever forget his professional debut, scoring from more than
90 yards out in the 3rd minute of the MLS club's 2-1 win over English club West Bromwich Albion in an exhibition match on Tuesday night.
Bingham, a lottery pick out of Cal, picked up a
West Brom ball, put it on the ground and kicked the ball toward the opposing goal, where new West Brom goalie Boaz Myhill, staring directly into a sun at Buck Shaw Stadium without wearing a cap, let the ball bounce over his head and
into the goal.
Bingham became the third MLS goalie to score in a game from his own half -- Danny Cepero scored for New York against Columbus in
2008 and Houston's Tally Hall scored against Metapan in the Concacaf Champions League in 2009 -- though his goal is considered the longest.
A good illustration of the difference between a "turkey" and a "goat." Had West Brom gone on to win despite this goal, keeper Myhill would have been merely the turkey in this game. But since this came in a one-goal loss for West Brom, alas, he's the goat.
