I remember watching many a Freedoms match back in the day against both local sides like the Brooklyn Italians (Dodgers) or against CONCACAF sides... it's nice to see them still playing well... but it would be nicer still if there was some connection with the professional leagues to develop players instead of seeing only Collegiate types getting involved with MLS... and then after say two seasons being replaced by a new crop of over aged rookies with little chance to sticking... this is and has been a problem for years with "Ethnic" teams barely getting even lip service from the pros... it just seems such a damned waste.
