[W-LEAGUE] The Ottawa Fury claimed the W-League regular-season title, amassing a perfect 12-0-0 record with 43 goals scored and only five against. It heads the
10-team playoff field vying for the three berths available at the 2011 W-League Championship to be hosted by the Seattle Sounders Women July 29-31.
Only five W-League teams have achieved
perfect seasons with the Pali Blues last doing so in 2008 when they went 12-0-0 in regular season play before capturing the W-League Championship.
The Fury's Mallory Outerbridge, a rising senior at Western Kentucky, is the runaway leader in goals with 17 in 12 games.
The Western Conference was once again one of the tightest races
in the W-League, with the Pali Blues, W-League champions in 2008 and 2009, missing the playoffs by a single point.
The 2010 champion Buffalo Flash joined WPS.
