Manchester United striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez missed the game against the MLS All-Stars because he was hospitalized overnight for a concussion sustained during a training
session on Tuesday.
Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson said after the game that he hadn’t planned on playing 23-year-old Hernandez much in Wednesday’s match
and also said he didn’t have big plans for Hernandez in Saturday’s European Champions League final rematch against Barcelona in Washington D.C.
"He would never have been
available for Barcelona, anyway,” Ferguson said. “He’s just coming back from a break after playing the (Concacaf) Gold Cup for Mexico. He wasn’t going to be involved for two or
three weeks, anyway.
“We took him to the hospital overnight, and all the scans were good. He spent today resting in his hotel room."
