MLS All-Star coach 'satisfied' after rout

New York Red Bulls coach coach Hans Backe, who coached the MLS All-Stars in their 4-0 loss to Manchester United on Wednesday, said he was satisfied with the result.

"Even if you lose 4-0, I can say I'm quite pleased with the performance," Backe said. "The first half is a very, very even first half. Possessionwise it's, I don't know, 50-50. ... I understand that sounds strange when you lose four-nil, but I have the feeling that we deserved better."

Backe praised the efforts of the Galaxy's David Beckham and Real Salt Lake defender Jamison Olave, who was forced off through a first-half injury.

"I think David was phenomenal," Backe said. "He's so, so competitive. Being around the world, playing still very hungry. ... I think Olave was phenomenal until the injury," Backe said.
