Is this through ID2 or ODP?
I think they meant 98 97 for U14, correct?
No, that is how old Coach Manny is........just kidding.....
No. It is 98 and 99 as they are creating next year's U14 team. 97s are too old as they will be 15 next year.
@Jeff, well the companion article on U14 Girls says 1997 & 1998, and if you are talking about U14 for this year then those years are correct. However, if it really is for next year then 1998 & 1999 would be correct. The two articles are inconsistent in how they report on this aspect of the "annual identification camp" that is being held for each gender.
I sent in 2 requests for a couple of players from my small club and never heard back from anyone on getting them looked at in Illinois. Not one player from Illinois was chosen. I heard coaching staff picking players picked in their demographic location. Be of my players is the top 99 in Illinois at any position. We have gone e erywhere from Wisconsin to Ohio and more and have not run into anyone even close. This system will not get the USA the better players on its national teams.
Over 25 players from east coast?? Most of them from N.Y., New Jersey and Pensilvania. Pensilvania?? Not one from Illinois?? Really??
Does anyone have Manny's email? Or where can I ask why Illinois players were not looked at??
For all who think Id2 is or will be a better system for national team selection than Odp because its free, think again. Even though Id2 is fully sponsored by Nike they are not going through the motions to really get the best in the country. There seems to be some of the same politics as in ODP aparebtly with coaches selecting players close to them geographically. Would Klins approve of this? Last year Id2 held tryouts in the fall and every club in Illinois knew about it. How can they not even consider Illinois when most of Region II's champs come out of here?
