Altidore scores twice, Beasley and Gomez strike in Mexico

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Jozy Altidore scored two goals to give Dutch club AZ a 4-0 win over NEC, while Herculez Gomez and DaMarcus Beasley both had goals in winning efforts in Mexico. Gomez's goal in the 89th minute gave Estudiantes Tecos a 2-1 win over Pachuca in Coach Raul Ariqas' first game in charge. Beasley's goal on a header in Puebla's 2-1 win over UNAM was his first goal in Mexico.  The only other American besides Altidore to win in Europe over the weekend was German-American Fabian Johnson, who started at left back in Hoffenheim's 2-0 win over Augsburg. Johnson, 23, played for Germany at the youth level but says he's open to play for the USA. For video of the goals by Altidore, Gomez and Beasley and all the Americans in action abroad ...

Gomez and Corona should clearly be on the Usmnt. Klins will get them. He wants to win and play with style.

Suggestion for Jose Altidore -- celebrate WITH your team. The first goal was a great individual effort on your part. The second was served to you on a plate. Embrace the team . . . only superstars and the totally arrogant play the game alone.
