Big tests for Lady Vols

[TENNESSEE WOMEN] Tennessee won its first two road games of the season for the first time since 2001. Now the hard part begins -- at home. The Lady Vols host No. 8 UCLA and future SEC rival Texas A&M in their annual First Tennessee Lady Vol Classic beginning Friday at the Regal Soccer Stadium.

Caroline Brown was the hero on the opening weekend, scoring three goals, including a pair of match-winners, in road wins over Kansas (2-1) and Oklahoma (3-1). Her three goals matched her total for 2010.

"Caroline has really started to come into her own as a player," Tennessee coach Angela Kelly said. "She is a student of the game, and the effort she is putting in is translating onto the field. Her first goal on Sunday against Oklahoma was something straight from the English Premier League highlight reel, a true big-time goal."

Three freshmen -- goalie Julie Eckel, Alison Clarke and Emily Shore --  got to start for UT over the weekend.

"Our freshmen are learning expeditiously," said Kelly, "and this trip served every purpose I was looking for. We still have a long way to go, and as I'll say a million times this year, this team will not be allowed to become complacent."
