[MARYLAND-NAVY] No. 3 Maryland got a goal and an assist from sophomore transfer Hayley Brock and defeated Navy, 3-0, ina match much closer than the score indicated on Monday afternoon at Ludwig Field.

Olivia Wagner ripped a shot from 25 yards for the first Terrapingoal in the 23rd minute, Brock made it 2-0 on a header four minutes before halftime, and Alex Doody took a pass from Brock in the box and closed out the scoringthe 77th minute.

The Mids had the edge in play in the second half, outshooting Maryland, 7-2.

“I’m proud of our effort and we competed today,” Navy coach Carin Gabarra said. “We had intensity for 90 minutes and we didn’t walk on the field with any intimidation, we didn’t sit back and we went after it. We created somegood chances and it was a good step forward.”
