UNDER-17 WORLD CUP: Ellinger selects 20 players for Finland '03

A squad of 20 players is off to Europe to represent the U.S. at the Under-17 World Cup in Finland Aug. 13-30. Coach John Ellinger selected all 18 of the players that represented the U.S. during qualifying in early March.

The United States, the only nation to qualify for all 10 world championships at this age group, will play all three of its Group D games at Lahti Stadium in Lahti, Finland. The U-17s will face Asian champion South Korea on Aug. 14, African runner-up Sierra Leone on Aug. 17 and European runner-up Spain on Aug. 20.

Before arriving in Finland, the U-17s will travel to Manchester, England, to play four warmups. The U.S. will face Blackburn Rovers U-17s Aug. 2 at Blackburn, Australia's U-17s Aug. 4 at Everton, Manchester United's U-17s Aug. 7 and Nigeria's U-17s Aug. 9 in Manchester.
