DiCicco steps down as Breakers coach

[WPS] Tony DiCicco, who coached the USA to the 1996 Olympic gold medal in women's soccer and 1999 Women's World Cup title, has stepped down as head coach of WPS's Boston Breakers.

Head coaching duties will be passed to former associate head coach Lisa Cole. She coached the Breakers during the 2011 Women's World Cup when DiCicco was in Germany serving as an ESPN analyst. He will remain with the organization in an advisory role.
 
DiCicco, who had a 23-26-16 record in three WPS seasons with the Breakers, also operates the very successful Soccer Plus Camps.

After leaving the U.S. national team, he worked the commissioner of WUSA, the first women's pro league. He also coached the USA to the 2008 Under-20 World Cup title in Chile.

The Breakers are only one of two teams remaining from WPS's launch in 2009, and they are seeking a new majority owner. Gary Loveman has been looking to sell his majority share in the club.
