Grimsley's golden goal completes South Carolina comeback

[AROUND THE COUNTRY] South Carolina senior Kayla Grimsley scored the first golden goal of her career to give the Gamecocks a 2-1 victory over visiting Charlotte Thursday night.

Grimsley knocked in her third game-winning goal this season just 31 seconds into the first overtime period to give the Gamecocks the comeback win. Senior Lolly Holland scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute after Charlotte took the lead five minutes earlier courtesy of Jenna McKeon's goal.

Grimsley now sits at 98 points in her career (37 goals and 24 assists), two shy of becoming the second Gamecock to crack the 100-point mark.

-- Freshman Chloe Cross scored her first career goal in the 84th minute to lift unbeaten Brown (4-0-1) to a 1-0 victory at New Hampshire.

-- Sophomore Eileen Maes scored with 59 seconds left in overtime to give Washington State a 2-1 win at Gonzaga 2-1. The game-winner was her fourth goal of the season.
