Bath City had five players ejected in an English FA Youth Cup game for their choice of underwear, which must be the same color as the shorts but Bath’s white pants were visible below their blackshorts.

Bath City coach Billy Clark was also dismissed by referee Darren Adie, who ruled players’ underwear breached rules during Newport County’s 6-0win.

“It was all very surreal,” said Bath managing director Paul Williams. “I was angry with the officials. Rules are rules but the officiating wasn’t what it should havebeen for a youth cup [game]. Why didn’t the officials check the colours before the start?”
