[AROUND THE COUNTRY] Hartford got two goals and an assist from Caitlin Alves and beat Maine, 3-0, on Thursday night toremain unbeaten with a 12-0-2 record.

Alves has now scored or assisted on the Hawk’s last six goals. She put Hartford ahead with the first half’s only goal in the 20th minute, intercepteda pass and fed Mary Beth Hamilton‘s for the second goal only 20 seconds after the break and scored on a header to complete the scoring in the 63rd minute.

— Purdue set a team record for goals in a Big Ten game with an 8-2 demolition of Indiana. The Boilermakers scored four goals in 11 minutes to make it 4-0 at the and it was 6-0 before theHoosiers got on the scoreboard. Kellie Phillips posted only the third hat trick in Purdue history, and Chinyelu Asherscored twice and assisted on the opening goal by Mollie Kuramoto.

Andrea Morales‘ golden golden gave UCRiverside a 2-1 win over Big West rival Cal Poly. The victory improved the Highlanders’ record to 7-6-1. They haven’t been over the .500 mark this late in a season since 2007.
