There’s no ambiguity regarding the Galaxy’s Group A finale Thursday against Motagua in Honduras, but there is doubt about whether Landon Donovan will be able to take the field inthe Concacaf Champions League game.

Only by winning can the Galaxy (3-2-0, 9 pts.) advance to the quarterfinals out of Group A. Victory would push the Galaxy into a three-way tie atop thegroup with Alajuelense and Morelia, and on head-to-head tiebreakers the Galaxy would claim one of the two quarterfinal slots. A quadriceps injury suffered Oct. 1 in an MLS game against Real Salt Lakehas sidelined Donovan for club and national team games, and his availability for the final group game in Tegucigalpa may not be known until shortly before kickoff.

“If I can start thegame then I want to start the game; if not, then I can contribute in some way,” said Donovan. “Obviously in a perfect world, we could win the game and a couple of guys who need rest or are borderlinedon’t need to play, but at the end of it all, we need to win the game.”

Ruled out by injury are right back Sean Franklin (inflamed knee) and forward RobbieKeane (strained adductor). Following the Motagua game, the Galaxy heads to Houston for its regular season finale Sunday against the Dynamo.
