The title gave the Nittany Lions the record for most consecutive titles by a Big Ten women's program in any sport, putting them one ahead of the current Northwestern women's tennis squad.

The win was Penn State's 10th in a row, its longest winning streak since 2005.

"Today was a great performance in execution as we finished our chances well," Penn State coach Erica Walsh said. "Winning another Big Ten title is one of the many goals that this team has and it was important for us to win the championship for the alums that were here before us. The players have bought into the system and really played excellent during our Big Ten games."
