[HOMEGROWN WATCH] Fourteen homegrown players made their MLS debuts in 2011. Five of them, including 16-year-old JackMcBean, who scored for Los Angeles on the final day of the regular season, and 16-year-old Diego Fagundez of New England, scored. Of the 41 homegrownplayers currently under contract to MLS clubs, 20 played at least one game in 2011. Of the 10 who played 10 or more games, only three are U.S. citizens. Only three homegrown players started 20 or moregames, and they all played for D.C. United: Andy Najar, Bill Hamid and EthanWhite.
