ACC dominates RPI Index

The RPI -- Ratings Percentage Index -- is the most important of the criteria the NCAA uses to determine the 64-team field for the NCAA Division I Women's Tournament. The RPI is a mathematical formula designed to objectively compare results and strength of schedule.

Duke, the winner of the ACC regular-season title, is No. 1 in the RPI index ahead of Stanford, No. 1 in the Soccer America rankings.

Such is the depth of the ACC that Miami (Fla.), No. 24 in the RPI index, didn't even make the ACC Tournament.

The Big 12 and SEC have three teams each in the Top 25. The Pac-12, WCC and Conference USA
