Barca and Milan go through, APOEL stays on top

[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Barcelona (which got a hat trick from Lionel Messi in its 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen) and AC Milan (which settled for a 1-1 tie with BATE Borislov) became the first teams to clinch berths in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League. Cypriot champion APOEL continued its improbable run atop Group G, beating Porto, 2-1, in a wild finish that saw Hulk equalize for Porto in the 89th minute and fellow Brazilian Gustavo Manduca win the game for the Nicosia team a minute later.
