FC Dallas winger Brek Shea, one of MLS’s top young players, will begin a month-long training stint at Arsenal after the USA’s friendlies against France and Slovenia Nov. 11 and15.

FC Dallas said the decision to send Shea to train with the Gunners was made after U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann encouraged his MLS-basedplayers to spend the offseason training overseas to enter January camp in top shape.

“Affording Brek the opportunity to continue to work on improving his game and measure himself amongthe best players in the world is something we are all excited about,” FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman said. “It’s a winning situation for Brek, FC Dallas andthe U.S. team, as the extra training time will help push his game to the next level.”

Shea, 21, is considered the hottest commodity among MLS’s young American players.
