The reorganized New England front office headed by president Brian Biello is moving forward quickly.

Biello says about a dozen candidates have been interviewed for thehead coaching position left vacant when Steve Nicol, who had been at the helm since 2002, was let go by New England right after the season ended last month. He expects to name areplacement by next week.

The re-shuffling promoted former Rev captain Mike Burns to general manager. He had been the team’s vice president of player personnel. “Thehead coach will be reporting in to Mike, and every other aspect of our soccer operations will be reporting in to Mike,’’ Bilello said. “So, whether that’s the youth,he’ll oversee scouting, player development, the coach, and all the technical staff.”
