Euro 2012: Opener against Dutch 'good for' Germany

Placed in the second pot, Germany was drawn into one of the toughest groups ever assembled in the history of the European Championship.

The Germans, widely regarded as the best young team in the world, will open against the Netherlands, its old rival, and then face Portugal and Denmark in Group B.

German national team general manager Oliver Bierhoff sees an upside to the tough draw. It is “very good to cool the recent euphoria.”
