[AWARDS] Creighton goalkeeper Brian Holt — all 5-foot-8 of him — who set an NCAA record for the lowest goals-againstaverage and helped lead the Bluejays to the Division I semifinals, was selected as the 2011 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award winner for Division I men’s soccer.

Holt broke the NCAArecord by posting a 0.206 goals-against average to top the former mark held by Northern Illinois’ Joe Zimka (0.207).

The award is given annually to the most outstanding seniorstudent-athlete in NCAA Division I men’s soccer. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas ofexcellence – community, classroom, character and competition.

“I am extremely honored to be chosen as the recipient of this fine award,” said Holt. “My parents and otherfamily members, instructors, advisers, friends and the Creighton community have influenced me as a person and guided me as I worked to reach my academic goals as a student and in becoming a caring andactive member of my community.”
