[AMERICANS ABROAD] Despite six goals this season in the German Second Division, U.S. international Edson Buddle could be
on the move. His agent, Richard Motzkin, confirmed that Buddle, who is in his first full season at FC Ingolstadt, is training with West Ham United. While a
switch to the Hammers would be dependent on the acquisition of a work permit, it would involve a move from a club fighting relegation to Germany's Regionalliga to another seeking promotion to the
English Premier League.
Motzkin, who confirmed the news via Twitter on Monday evening, added that Buddle "is fine & supports his
struggling Club/Coach in their decision to make temp changes. True pro & options exist."
Motzkin's comments would seem to support the view that FC Ingolstadt is seeking to cut its
payroll and therefore make Buddle available for a transfer rather than the suggestion hinted at in the German press that Buddle fell out with new coach Tomas
Oral.
Buddle did not suit up for the final game before the winter break. He has nine goals in 31 league games since moving to Germany a year ago.
