It looks like Barcelona has beaten Real Madrid and Chelsea to Italian defender Gianluca Zambrotta's signature. Goal.com reports that Zambrotta and fellow Juventus teammate Lilian Thuram are set to
join Barcelona for a combined 19 million euros. Negotiations with the players are to be concluded this evening, following which a formal announcement could be made. Barca executives landed in Torino
yesterday and held initial talks. A deal was concluded quickly soon thereafter, as a court order directing FC Barcelona to hold presidential elections immediately was issued today. According to the
report, Barcelona wanted to peg Juventus back to 15 million eruos for both players.
