Inter Milan's Milito regains his touch

A month after being awarded the 2011 Bidone d'Oro (the Golden Dustbin) handed out to Italian soccer's worst performer by Radio Rai 2, Diego Milito has regained his touch. The Argentine scored to give Inter Milan a 1-0 win over AC Milan in their derby match that moved the Nerazzurri into fifth place, just six points behind leader Juventus.

Milito, who scored 30 goals during Inter's 2009-10 season that included Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League titles, spent much of 2011 injured and managed just eight goals.

But he has recently regained his form, scoring a well-taken goal against Lecce just before the holiday break and returning with two goals and an assist in the first game of the year, a 5-0 win over Parma.

Against Milan, Milito got one chance and took advantage of a horrible mistake by defender Ignazio Abate, who failed to cut out the pass from Javier Zanetti. Milito broke in on goalie Christian Abbiati and scored to the far post.
