Turner steps down at North Carolina prep power

[COACHING MOVES] Steve Turner, who led Durham Jordan High School to three North Carolina boys state titles, is stepping down after 23 years as he is about to accept a faculty position at a new school.

-- Jordan won titles in 1990, 2001 and 2010 under Turner. The Falcons went 25-0-0 in 2010, outscoring their opponents 116-12. Monbo Bokar moved on to play for N.C. state in 2011.

-- The high school fieldhouse is named after Turner. “All my friends tell me they wish they had a restroom named in their honor,” he told the Durham Herald Sun, laughing.
