Camp breaks after teams play 1-1 tie

[U.S. SCRIMMAGE] Before going their separate ways, the U.S. national team and U.S. under-23 national team played to a 1-1 tie in their second scrimmage on Tuesday night at the Home Depot Center.

The seniors won the first scrimmage, 4-0, and looked like they would pile it on again in the second, taking the lead in the 3rd minute on a Graham Zusi goal off a Benny Feilhaber pass. But the U-23s recovered and tied the score on a goal by Jack McInerney off a corner kick.

The game was the first since Jermaine Jones, suspended in the German Bundesliga, joined the camp. For the U-23s, Josh Gatt left camp and returned to Norway with an ankle injury. Also in camp but currently sidelined with an ankle injury is Juan Agudelo, who was training with the senior national team but expected to join the U-23s for Olympic qualifying in March.

The senior national team is now off to Arizona, where it will play Venezuela Saturday in Glendale. The U-23s head to Costa Rica to play two scrimmages.
