Americans hold off Denmark in Aegean Cup

[U.S. UNDER-17 MEN] The U.S. under-17 national team defeated Denmark, 3-2, in their second game of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Aegean Cup in Turkey. Twice the young Danes came back from a goal but each time the Americans responded within three minutes.

Conor Donovan, Wesley Wade and DeAndre Robinson scored for the USA, lifting the team to second place in the Group A standings behind host Turkey, which defeated the Czech Republic 2-0 earlier in the day.

The USA next faces the Czech Republic on Friday in the final group match. The eight-team tournament concludes this weekend with the championship and third-place game.

The tournament is the last international event before U-17 coach Wilmer Cabrera departs.
