The Dallas Burn named Colin Clarke as head coach for the 2004 season.
Clarke, who becomes only the third coach in the Burn's eight-year history, is a former Northern Ireland international with World Cup experience (goal against Spain at Mexico '86).
He came to the United States in 1998 to coach in the A-League. After stints at Richmond (1998-99) and San Diego (2000), he joined the Burn as an assistant coach in 2001.
He was named interim head of the Burn after Mike Jeffries's departure with six games left in the 2003 season.
