Former Soccer America Freshman of the Year Vedad Ibisevic is on the move again. VfB Stuttgart signed him from Bundesliga rival Hoffenheim in a deal valued at
more than $6 million that will keep him with the club until 2016.
"We wanted to further strengthen our frontline and managed to do just that with the signing of Vedad Ibisevic," Stuttgart
sports director Fredi Bobic.
The Bosnian-born Ibisevic was 16 when he moved to St. Louis, where he finished high school. He spent one season at
Saint Louis University before signing with Paris St. Germain. He never settled in at PSG and later moved to Dijon in France and Alemannia Aachen in Germany before making a name for himself at
Hoffenheim.
He helped it win promotion to the Bundesliga in 2008 and has scored 49 goals in 116 Bundesliga appearances with Hoffenheim and Alemannia Aachen. He was the Bundesliga's
leading scorer at the halfway mark of the 2008-09 season with 18 goals in 17 games before being injured.
