Altidore scores twice, Gyau debuts

[AMERICAN ABROAD] Jozy Altidore scored two late goals -- his first goals in two months -- as AZ beat ADO, 6-0, in The Hague to move back into a first-place tie with PSV in the Dutch Eredivisie. Joe Gyau, 19, made his competitive debut for Hoffenheim, coming on late in its 1-0 loss to second division Greuther Fuerth in the quarterfinals of the German Cup.

Altidore entered game in the 76th minute and scored his sixth and seventh league goals of the season three minutes apart. He has 11 goals overall in his first season with AZ.

Charlison Benshop scored the first three goals for AZ. PSV and AZ are three points ahead of FC Twente, which has a game in hand.

Gyau, son of former U.S. international Phillip Gyau and grandson of former Ghana star Nana Gyau, came on the 76th minute in place of American Fabian Johnson. Danny Williams started for Hoffenheim. Canadian Olivier Occean had the winning goal for Greuther Fuerth.

Alfredo Morales again got the start for Hertha Berlin, which fell to Borussia Moenchengladbach, 2-0, in overtime.
