Since defender and captain John Terry was injured three weeks ago, Chelsea has not notched a shutout nor won a game. Now comes news that his right knee will require surgery and he
could be out of action for up to 8 weeks.
The injury occurred when Terry collided with a goalpost during last month's FA Cup victory over Portsmouth.
Terry's injury also has
implications for England's Euro 2012 preparations, ruling him out of the Feb. 29 friendly against the Netherlands at Wembley and leaving him racing to recover his fitness for the finals in Poland and
Ukraine.
