[HIGH SCHOOL] Aliso Niguel, the top-ranked team in the Powerade Fab 50 winter rankings, won the Southern California Division I championship with a 3-2 win over
Los Osos after rallying from 2-0.
Lindsay Doyle had the first two goals, and freshman Lauren Miller scored
the game-winner in the 66th minute for Aliso Niguel, which finished 22-1-5.
Santa Margarita Catholic beat Bishop Amat, 2-1, on goals by Samantha
Trenary and Bryce Ziemer to win the Division II girls title.
Southern California is the only region in California that organizes a soccer
championship beyond the sectional level. Only a handful of sports hold state championships in California.
