Internationals pull big upset in Dallas

[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY] Cleveland club Internationals pulled one of the biggest upsets of the U-17/18 Development Academy season when it beat FC Dallas, 1-0. The MLS club went into the game with an 18-1-3 record.

Internationals, which won on a goal by Grant Baltes, is just seven games into its Development Academy season and has a 5-2-0 record.

Coach Jared Embick's team features eight players it lists as headed to Division I programs. Perhaps its most highly touted player is Akron-bound midfielder Matt Foldesy, who was Ohio's Gatorade State Fall Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Matt Venanzi, who leads Internationals with four goals, is headed to Pittsburgh.

FC Dallas had beaten the Columbus Crew's academy team, 5-0, the day before and rested several stars: Mexican U-17 World Cup champion Richard Sanchez, Jonathan Top and Danny Garcia.
