Ursuline makes it 22 consecutive state titles

[HIGH SCHOOL] Ursuline Academy made it 22 state titles in a row when the Dallas school captured the TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) Division I girls final with a 2-0 victory over Houston St. Agnes.

Natalie Barnet scored from 30 yards seven minutes after intermission and Kellie Schnurr added an insurance goal 15 minutes into the second half to give the Bears the championship.

“It’s always a matter of patience in a highly emotional situation,” Coach Jamie Cantrell told the Dallas Morning-News. “We’ve been through that a lot this year, so it’s not unfamiliar to us.”

The Bears finished 22-2-0 with their only losses coming to a pair of public school powers, Marcus and Plano West.

Their top college prospect is senior Jana Jeffrey, who plays for the Dallas Texans and will attend Boston College.
