5. OFF THE POST: Punishment on stage

Klaus Augenthaler, coach of German club Wolfsburg, says his players earn too much money to be affected by fines. That's why players guilty of tardiness and dress-code violations are being punished by having to tell jokes or sing in front of the entire squad.

Augenthaler says his German players are free to choose a song of their choice, while the team's foreign players are asked to sing the German national anthem. The first to croon the "Deutschlandlied" brought the house down when he sang "Unity and Rights and Free Time," instead of "Unity and Rights and Freedom."

Most players, Augenthaler reports, have opted to tell jokes.
